Thistle Hotels has appointed a renowned executive chef for its Glasgow property, while Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton in London appoints a general manager

Thistle Hotels has appointed a renowned executive chef for its Glasgow property, with 40 years experience in the hotel and leisure industry.

Billy Campbell, formerly executive chef at Fairmont St Andrews hotel, joins Thistle Glasgow with further experience working at The Balmoral Edinburgh and Gleneagles Hotel.

A mentor for the Academy of Culinary Arts and judge for the Awards of Excellence competition, Campbell will be responsible for leading his kitchen team to deliver a new bespoke menu choice.

Mark Gallagher, general manager, Thistle Glasgow, said: “With Billy’s wealth of experience and proven track record, we’re confident that he’ll continue to raise the profile of the hotel within the region following our investment – we are looking forward to welcoming both existing and new customers to sample the food quality.”

Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton

Meanwhile, The Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton in London has appointed a new general manager.

Rick Schulthesis joins the hotel from his position as general manager of Crowne Plaza Shoreditch, and brings with him 15 years experience from working with the InterContinental Hotels Group, Accor Hotels and Eden Hotels.

Girish Sanger, hotel director, said, “Rick Schultheis has an in-depth understanding of results-oriented hotel management matched with personal charisma and an impressive track-record of success. These attributes along with his obvious dedicated professionalism made him an obvious choice for the role and we delighted to have him on-board.”
