Jazz dinners

City restaurant 1 Lombard Street has teamed up with Jazz FM to offer diners a series of intimate performances with a variety of world-class jazz musicians. Every Saturday from September, diners will be bale to experience chef patner Herbert Berger’s seasonal themed menu alongside entertainment from artists such as vocalist Anita Wardell and The Alex Garnett Quartet.

Pennyhill Bakery

Pennyhill Park and Spa in Surrey has launched its own bakery, which will provide guests with breads and patisseries for afternoon teas and snacks. The breads, which are available in sourdough, ciabatta and focaccia varieties, are made using the hotels own filtered bore hole water. Guests will be able to buy products at the hotel’s reception, as well as pre-order them to take away by filling in a door handle order form. The hotel also hopes to run bakery master classes for up to 80 people.

Ramadan break-fast

Malaysian Restaurant Awana in Chelsea has devised a special menu for those looking to break their fasting in style during Ramadan. Featuring a selection of the restaurant’s ‘finest dishes’, the menu will be available to diners until 11.30pm, hours after the sun sets in the capital. Dishes available during Ramadan include Date Korma, Roti Canai, and Nasi Putih.

Malaysia Kitchen

Selfridges London, Manchester and Birmingham will play host to Malaysia Kitchen form 11-19 September, where celebrity chefs Jason Atherton, Atul Kochhar and Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker will demonstrate authentic Malaysian cuisine. While the stores will stock a variety of Malaysian products for the duration of the event, Hix Restaurant and Champagne Bar at Selfirdges in London will also host a Malaysian menu devised by Kochhar and Hix. Malaysia Kitchen will also take over Trafalgar Square for one night on 24 September in the form of a traditional night market.
