Oktoberfest in London

Organised by Bavarian Beerhouse, this year’s Oktoberfest in London lasts eight weeks, making it the longest Oktoberfest in the world. From 16 September until 6 November, the Bavarian Beerhouse’s two London venues will be transformed into havens of beer, German food, live oompah music and partying, Bavarian-style.

Lancers game

Edinburgh's Award winning Indian restaurant Lancers is celebrating 25 years in business with a specially designed menu. It features locally-sourced game as a nod to the hunting tradition of the Bengal Lancers, the famous British Army regiment. A mural has also been commissioned for the restaurant which shows the history of the Lancers.

Taste of Chilli

Massala Restaurant in Cobham is to hold a Taste of Chilli Dinner and Quiz on 23 September, in collaboration with founder of the Curry Club and publisher of the Good Curry Guide Pat Chapman. Dishes on the menu will start at a low heat and gradually become hotter as the meal progresses. Set at £24.95, the menu also includes a chilli cocktail and chilli chocolate.

Art exhibition

Derwent-Wye Fine Art has organised an art exhibition at the Peacock Hotel and the East Lodge Hotel in Rowsley, Derbyshire from 10 September to 17 October. Both guests and visitors at the hotels will be able to view and buy sculptures from some of the UK's top 20th Century artists, inclusing Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.
