Derek Bulmer, editor of the Great Britain and Ireland Michelin Guide, has retired from his position after 30 years working for the group.

He is to be replaced by Rebecca Burr who has worked as a Michelin inspector for 10 years. She is the first ever female editor of the Great Britain and Ireland Guide and the third in the entire history of the now international group.

Bulmer will continue to work with Michelin for several months in the capacity of a figurehead, and an image of him has been released for the first time. This month, Bulmer will join MyJam - a communications PR and marketing agency - as a consultant. A comprehensive restaurant critiquing service will be offered exclusively to the group's clients as part of a marketing and PR retainer.
