BaxterStorey has announced that its Foundation will provide sponsorship to Simon Hulstone as he competes in the World final of the Bocuse d’Or in January.

Since launching a petition last week at The Restaurant Show asking the industry for its support, Hulstone has seen many top chefs and organisations pledge their backing.

Now, in addition to the sponsorship provided by Electrolux Professional, Nestle Professional, Compass Group and Unilever Foodsolutions, BaxterStorey has pledged its support of the chef.

Industry support

Alastair Storey, chief executive of BaxterStorey, said: “It is a tremendous achievement for Simon to be representing the UK in this contest. It is important that we as an industry encourage and support our talented chefs and make it possible for them to compete and win accolades at an international level.

“We are proud to be assisting our peers in their endeavours. We wish them the best of luck.”

The Bocuse d’Or is a biennial competition seen widely as the Oscars of the culinary world.

Hulstone finished fourth in the European regional finals earlier this year, and will now go forth to compete in the World Final in Lyon on 25-26 January 2011.
