Nordic rooftop bars at Trafalgar Hotel and express Michelin lunches at Roussillon

Vista bar gone Nordic​

The Trafalgar Hotel has transformed its rooftop bar Vista into a Nordic-inspired Christmas offering, with a specially created dome covering the space. Launching today and running until the end of December, Vista will serve a selection of Nordic-themed cocktails, including Stockholm Syndrome and Hot Blooded Viking. The venue will also be hosting a New Year’s party where guests can enjoy a unique view of the London fireworks.

Express Michelin lunch​

Michelin-starred Roussillon restaurant in Pimlico is targeting lunchtime diners in a hurry by launching an express three-course lunch they guarantee can be served and eaten in 45 minutes. Guests, who will also be given a half bottle of wine, canapés, amuse bouche and palate cleanser, will be provided with an egg timer on their table to help keep track of time. Head chef Dan Gill will however limit tables to six per day at no more than four covers each.

Gourmet weekend​

The Cornwall Hotel Spa & Estate near the Eden Project has launched a series of gourmet weekends featuring an eight-course tasting menu from chef Tom Bradbury. For £195 per person, guests can enjoy a spa treatment, meet Bradbury and participate in a cookery class, experience the best of Cornish produce at dinner, with matching wines, stay overnight in a deluxe room and wake up to breakfast in the morning.

Lucky Table One​

To mark its first birthday, Italian restaurant Babbo in Mayfair, London is offering diners the chance to eat for free. Every night until 27 November, lucky diners seated at table one will be given a complimentary dinner and drinks – although they will not be aware of the fact until after they have eaten. Babbo was recently voted Best Italian Restaurant in the 2011 Zagat London Restaurant Guide.
