Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), the fast-casual burger brand, is to make its debut on Jersey after signing a franchise deal with Channel Islands’ retail group Sandpiper.
The chain, which has 54 outlets in the UK, will open in February next year in St Helier, the capital, on the site of Signature Restaurant.
Sandpiper, previously known as CI Traders, has significant retail interests and extensive franchised operations on the Channel Islands.
It has a 40-year relationship with Marks & Spencer and also has franchise agreements with brands such as Costa Coffee, Hotel Chocolat, Iceland and Pasty Presto.
GBK, part of Clapham House Group, which has just been bought by Nando’s Group, trades under franchise in a number of overseas locations including Greece, Ireland, Turkey and Dubai (part of the UAE).
