Winter warmer cocktails
The five-star Radisson Edwardian Manchester Hotel is encouraging guests to really stave off their New Year’s diet resolution until the depths of January, by enticing them with a selection of rich, chocolatey cocktails. It’s winter warmers menu, which is served in its Opus One restaurant, features cocktails such as Chocolate Dream, a tall cocktail made with Kahlua, Baileys and Creme de Cacao finished off with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Each cocktail (there are six of them) is priced at £10.
Italian New Year’s Eve
Fifteen London, the restaurant affiliated with Jamie Oliver, is to run a special tasting menu on New Year’s Eve, showcasing the best of the Islington restaurant’s regular offer. The menu is inspired by the Campagnia, Tuscany, Piedmonte and Puglia regions of Italy, with dishes includingh Bruschetta with Deconshire Crab, Gnocchi with Cumbrian Pork Ragu, Slow-cooked shin of Scotch Beef and Valpolicella-soaked pears. Diners booking tables for later on in the veneing will be given a complimentary glass of sparkling wine for when the bell chimes midnight.
Only the lonely
In recognition of the single traveller, budget hotel group Umi is offering lone guests a hotel room plus breakfast in bed for just £9.99. The offer is available all through January 2011, with one room at Umi Brighton, London and the Petrovka Loft in Moscow available to book each night.
