Peter and Arjun Waney, co-founders of Zuma and Roka, have partnered with former A-Z Restaurants director Giuliano Lotto to launch a new Italian restaurant in Mayfair.

The trio have signed a pre-let contract with the Grosvenor Estate for a 3,700sqft ground floor restaurant on North Audley Street.

The restaurant, which is an old Natwest Bank building, is expected to relaunch as Banca after a thorough refurbishment is completed in October.

David Rawlinson, director of Restaurant Property who acted on behalf of the trio, said: “The people involved in this project are of the highest calibre and currently run four of London’s best restaurants. This will undoubtedly be one of the most significant openings in this year’s restaurant calendar.”

Lotto and the Waneys are yet to announce a head chef for the venue, although it is understood a shortlist of three, who are already training in London, has been drawn up.
