Bistro du Vin to launch at old Eastside Inn site
The launch marks the first entry into the capital for Hotel du Vin, which operates 14 bistros across the UK within hotel properties.
The Clerkenwell concept will be similar to the existing hotel-based Bistro du Vins, featuring simple, classic breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, devised by group executive chef Keith Shearer and Malmaison London chef John Woodward, focused on locally sourced seasonal produce from within a 30-mile radius.
The bistro will also feature an on-site Butchery, with freshly cut meat from nearby Smithfields market showcased in the venue’s windows.
Wine focus
Bistro du Vin’s signature Wine Tasting Table will also feature, with Master Sommelier Ronan Sayburn’s personal selection from the wine cellar.
Danielle Meenagh, the winner of the sommelier scholarship on Michel Roux’s Service, will also join the bistro following her six-month placement at Hotel du Vin in Winchester.
A 30-cover bar surrounds an open mini kitchen, offering bar snacks and an extensive cocktail list.
The venue will also feature a 14-cover private dining room, as well as a glass-walled chef’s table positioned between the kitchen and butchery to give a 360-degree view of the chefs in action.

Eastside Inn closed in September last year, after a “devastated” Van de Horst felt the effects of the economic downturn.
