Marcus Wareing hopes to complete the restaurant before 5 May
Marcus Wareing has pushed back the launch of his second fine dining restaurant The Gilbert Scott at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London following a delay in construction works.

The restaurant was due to undergo a soft opening phase at the end of this month, but will now not launch until the beginning of May.

He said: “I have had to make the difficult decision to delay the opening of The Gilbert Scott. Unfortunately the contractors have been unable to meet the agreed schedule which has forced my decision to postpone the opening.”

The 120-cover restaurant will be the second hotel restaurant for Wareing, joining his acclaimed eponymous venue at The Berkeley Hotel.

The Gilbert Scott will be overseen by Wareing’s protégé Chantelle Nicholson, who will assume the role of general manager.

A spokesperson for The Gilbert Scott said it was hoped the restaurant would launch in time for the grand opening of the 245-bedroom hotel on 5 May, to mark 138 years since the hotel first began trading.

The St. Pancras Renaissance will continue to go ahead with its soft opening this month as usual.
