Sapphire Afternoon Tea

Anthony Marshall, executive chef at Podium Restaurant at London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, has created a special Sapphire Afternoon Tea to celebrate the Royal Wedding, taking inspiration from the sapphire engagement ring Prince William presented to Kate Middleton. The tea will feature white chocolate cupcakes with bouquet icing, a shortbread wedding cake with gold leaf and a cheesecake amd coconut parcel, all topped with sapphire blue icing.

Memorabilia swap shop

Renaissance Pubs is encouraging its guests to bring along any Royal Wedding memorabilia between 12pm-6pm on the big day (29 April), and swap it for a meal and drink. The offer will be available at all the Renaissance Pubs venues, including The Avalon and The Abbeville in Clapham, and The Bolingbroke in Battersea.

YO! Sushi commemorative plate

YO! Sushi has created a special edition kitten bride and groom commemorative plate to mark the Royal Wedding, which is available to buy for £2.50 from 29 April. Only 2,00 pieces have been commissioned, and all proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes charity. The fast casual sushi bar has also created a special dish dedicated to the couple – the smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber sushi “sandwich”, which will be available a week before the wedding. All proceeds from the dish will also go to charity.

Street party

Ed and Tom Martin’s The Gun in London’s Docklands is hosting its own “street party” in its al fresco space usually reserved for A Grelha at The Gun. For £25 guests will be served a glass of Royal Punch plus a meal of spit-roast venison plus roast potatoes, followed by Eton Mess. Alternatively they can skip the food and enjoy two pints of Pimm’s for £10. The pub will also host the Royal Wedding coverage live on its 42” plasma TV screens situated around the terrace area.
