Dr. Oetker Foodservice has created a new range of gluten-free baking mixes to help chefs and operators cater for coeliacs.

According to Dr. Oetker, the Gluten free White Bread Mix and Sponge and Cupcake Mix are the first complete bakery mixes of their kind on the market.

Cheryll Snowden, foodservice controller for Dr. Oetker, said: “Consumers who have special dietary requirements can find eating out a real challenge, and are often limited by what they can have on a menu. Made with the finest quality ingredients, (the mixes) are ideal for a host of sectors, from pubs, hotels and restaurants to contract catering, which want to save time without compromise.”

Chefs need to simply add water and oil to the mixes to create simple bakery products, although additional ingredients can be used to create a more diverse range.
