Budget 2011: How will it affect hospitality businesses?

Pub operators were disappointed to hear that Chancellor George Osborne planned to continue with the beer tax escalator in his budget, increasing duty by 7.5 per cent, but his measures are to affect more hospitality businesses than just pubs.

The measures outlined last week have been slated for doing "little to alleviate pressure on operators’ suffering and... little to kick-start consumer spending", leaving many hospitality business owners disillusioned that help for the sector is on its way.

BigHospitality spoke with a handful of operators from across the industry to find out how exactly the measures will affect their businesses over the next year.
