Luxury five-star hotel group Exclusive Hotels has acquired its sixth property, the Ramada Jarvis-operated Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot, off an asking price of £15m.

The 63-bedroom Queen Anne country house hotel, originally built for the Churchill family, has been sold to Exclusive free of branding or any management contract, and will start trading under the brand as of today.

However the hotel will be run under Exclusive Hotels’ sister brand EH Venues, which provides dedicated business conferencing, training and events and also includes Fanhams Hall Hotel in Ware, Hertfordshire.

Danny Pecorelli, managing director of Exclusive Hotels, said: “We are really excited to be adding to our portfolio of hotels and doubly excited that we are now able to offer a second EH Venue choice to our clients and guests.

“This addition to our collection has been carefully and sensitively planned and has been chosen to fit the EH Venues model of meeting and training venues that offer a strong sense of fun. We are really looking forward to enhancing the service, style and interiors within this beautiful Queen Anne building and to establishing the EH Venues unique approach to meetings and conferencing”.

The Royal Berkshire also features 11 meeting and function rooms, the Polo Bar and Little Paddocks Restaurant.

Exclusive Hotels also operates Pennyhill Park & The Spa in Bagshot, The Manor House Hotel & Golf Club near Bath, South Lodge Hotel near Horsham, and Lainston House Hotel in Winchester and Mannings Heath Golf Club in Horsham.
