The owners of London-based steak restaurant group Hawksmoor are to open a third venue in the City in October this year.

Will Beckett and Huw Gott will open Hawksmoor Guildhall on Basinghall Street with a similar exposed brickwork and wood décor to their Seven Dials and Spitalfields restaurants.

Designed once more by Macaulay Sinclair, the restaurant will feature a 160-cover dining room, 75-cover cocktail bar, a 22-cover private dining room plus a walk-in wine room, large enough to conduct tastings and housing London’s first Port enomatic preservation system.

Hawksmoor’s executive chef Richard Turner will create a steak and burger-orientated menu similar to the two other sites with a few additional new dishes.

In November last year the pair sold their only non-Hawksmoor venue Green & Red in Bethnal Green Road to fund the expansion of its core brand.

At the time Gott told BigHospitality they planned to expand the group at a rate of one site per year, concentrating on affluent areas such as Canary Wharf, Smithfields, Mayfair and suburban West London.
