The IUMIS app helps waiters submit orders on the go
EPoS specicliast Uniware has created a new iPod Touch and iPad app that allows waiting staff to digitally take customers’ orders at the table.

The IUMIS EPoS app wirelessly links with a venue’s main EPoS system so staff can efficiently take customer orders without having to return to a central till area.

The technology, claims Uniware managing director Mike Brand, is more cost effective than sticking with traditional EPoS terminals.

“Unlike other ordering apps that have been launched, the IUMIS app is sophisticated enough to automatically link with the main EPoS system. This therefore avoids any potential for human error when it comes to having to re-enter the data on the main system as an order comes through, not to mention the extra time that this would take.

“When you consider that the cost of investing in a new terminal could be four times as costly as investing in an iPod or iPad, it makes sense to harness the mobile technology that is readily available to provide a ‘roving order-taker’. The benefits can be substantial in terms of managing queues and speeding-up customer service.”

The app can be tailored to suit individual front of house operations.
