Jamie’s Italian takes site in Clerkenwell’s Angel Building

The group headed by managing director Simon Blagden has acquired a 25-year lease on the office building’s largest retail unit - a 7,900sqft corner site on the ground floor.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Jamie’s Italian had also acquired a site in Milton Keynes’ thecentre:mk and at The Maltings shopping centre in St Albans.
With a current portfolio of 17 sites, Jamie’s Italian has plans to grow to 25 restaurants by the end of 2011.
Speaking of the group’s latest acquisition, Blagden said: “The site on the corner of the Angel Building is perfect for the Jamie’s Italian collection in London and we’re looking forward to making it one of our most beautifully designed restaurants.”
Jamie’s Italian will also be joined at the Derwent London development by The Angel Kitchen, a café-restaurant situated within the heart of the building’s atrium, and run by the Good Eating Company.
It will serve contemporary food for the building’s commercial tenants and visitors.
Shelley Sandzer and CBRE acted on behalf of Derwent London, while Graeme Wait represented Jamie Oliver Restaurants.
