For £36 per person (based on a minimum of 10), the hotel will supply music and canapés from the era, plus two cocktails from a special menu inspired by characters from the show. Partygoers can choose from Joan Holloway’s Tom Collins, Peggy Olsen’s White Russian or Don Draper’s Old Fashioned. The venue also has a list of ‘optional extras’ such as make-up lessons and themed decorations for hire.
Knights of Langley
Northumbrian hotel Langley Castle is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an online competition that will reward participants with £1,000 for being the first person to find one of five ‘Langley Knights’ hiding in Britain’s public parks. The competition will encourage people to organise teams throughout the country to help find the three ‘real knights’ and two virtual ones. Participants who register their team at http://www.langleyknights.com will be shown photos of the knights on certain days with social media being used to reveal more clues if they remain unfound. Competition winners will be announced on 6 July at a special event at the hotel.
