Bentley’s for Breakfast

Richard Corrigan’s seafood restaurant Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill is now opening its doors from 7am weekdays to capture the breakfast trade. Breakfast will be served outside on the restaurant’s terrace or in the Oyster Bar. Dishes on the breakfast menu include Belvelly House Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs (£12), Maldon Kippers with Lemon Butter (£13.50), or Bentley’s Full Irish Breakfast, which includes a Baked Oyster, (£16.50). Lighter options include Granola with Fresh Fruit (£4) and croissants with homemade preserves.

Mad Men join Sherlock Holmes

London hotel Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes has devised a themed party package for the meetings and events market which is inspired by the US TV series Mad Men. For £36 per person (based on a minimum of 10), the hotel will supply music and canapés from the era, plus two cocktails from a special menu inspired by characters from the show. Partygoers can choose from Joan Holloway’s Tom Collins, Peggy Olsen’s White Russian or Don Draper’s Old Fashioned. The venue also has a list of ‘optional extras’ such as make-up lessons and themed decorations for hire.

Knights of Langley

Northumbrian hotel Langley Castle is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an online competition that will reward participants with £1,000 for being the first person to find one of five ‘Langley Knights’ hiding in Britain’s public parks. The competition will encourage people to organise teams throughout the country to help find the three ‘real knights’ and two virtual ones. Participants who register their team at http://www.langleyknights.com will be shown photos of the knights on certain days with social media being used to reveal more clues if they remain unfound. Competition winners will be announced on 6 July at a special event at the hotel.

Pop-Up at Canary Wharf

The team behind East London restaurant Bistrotheque will be joining supper club The Clove Club and Pop Up restaurateurs A Bit of What You Fancy and Claire Roberson and Jonathan Woolway for an event to showcase London’s underground dining scene later this month. Restaurants in Residence will take place at the Create11 Festival at Canary Wharf between 25 June and 23 July. Each pop-up restaurant will serve a set menu of up to six courses for £45.
