VisitBritain has appointed Joss Croft as its new head of marketing, an appointment expected to boost the tourism agency’s efforts of promoting the UK abroad.

Croft, who was previously VisitBritain’s regional director for Europe, takes on his new role as the agency prepares to toll out a new four-year £100m marketing campaign designed to attract more tourists and spend to the UK.

Laurence Bresh, director of marketing said: “Joss will be ensuring the marketing programme is relevant and compelling for consumers, delivers for our commercial partners and on the government targets of 4m additional inbound visitors spending £2bn across Britain.”

Croft has also been head of business visits and events and manager of Strategic Partnerships, as well as working in sales and marketing for Futuroscope Poitiers, Disneyland Paris and the London Tourist Board.
