Delegates at the inaugural Boutique Hotel Summit this week were told to watch their pricing structure for the 2012 London Olympic Games to avoid pricing themselves out of the market.

Sarah Duignan, director of account management at STR Global, took delegates through the performance of the UK hotel industry over the past 10 years, focusing on how the recession affected both London and the regions, and which cities are leading the road to recovery.

She went on to analyse the performance of the industry during the Royal Wedding holiday, and forecast the future of the industry, across the budget, mid-market, boutique and luxury sectors at the upcoming Olympic Games next year.

For those not in attendance at the Boutique Hotel Summit, this is Duignan’s insightful presentation in full.

Her warning not to hike prices extortionately for the 2012 London Olympic Games can be read here.
