The executive management team has been announced for the Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5, which is due to launch on 31 August.

Greg Place, formerly director of strategic development for Whitbread’s London hotel properties, joins the five-star hotel as general manager. Having held senior positions with Hilton, Marriott and IHG in the past, Place will lead the executive management team throughout the hotel’s opening.

Alexandra Mosquito, formerly of Hilton, IHG and Accor, joins the hotel as Place’s deputy in the role of hotel manager.

She will be joined by new director of human resources Caroline Lowe; director of business development Tiffany Crawford; director of sales and marketing Jo Peck; and director of finance Steven Close.

Place said: “I am delighted to be leading a team with such a broad depth of experience. Many members of the executive team have crossed paths in former positions and it is exciting to have recruited such a high calibre of talent to work toward this landmark new opening for Hilton Hotels & Resorts.”

Apprenticeship opportunities

The 350-bedroom hotel has also announced a collaboration with the Academy of Culinary Arts (ACA), the Academy of Food & Wine Service (AFWS) and West London University to offer six apprenticeship placements.

Four kitchen positions and two front-of-house positions will be offered under the guidance of Cyrus Todiwala MBE, who is set to open Mr. Todiwala’s Kitchen at the hotel, and executive chef Paul Danabie, who is responsible for the hotel’s general food and beverage operation.

The chosen apprentices will undergo a three-year NVQ course run by West London University resulting in an ACA Diploma Examination in Professional Cookery. The AFWS will help train the front-of-house apprentices.

Caroline Lowe, director of human resources, said: “At London Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5 we are committed to discovering and training the best talent in hospitality and are delighted to be offering these exciting apprenticeship opportunities.

“Investing in our team members is a key focus for us and we are currently recruiting the best possible team to work in our new upscale Hilton Hotel.”
