Menzies Hotels has appointed Tracey Ractliffe its new sales director as it begins an extensive refurbishment across its estate, including its events and conferencing spaces.

Ractliffe, who joined the hotel group from Heythrop Park Resort earlier this month, will be based at its head office in Derby where she will work on driving sales across all 16 of Menzies' UK hotels, particularly in the areas of conferencing and events.

She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to drive awareness and business to Menzies Hotels. The groups hotels are in great locations and offer excellent service levels with fantastic facilities, I am delighted to be able to drive the awareness of these forward, not just as individual hotels but under the Menzies Hotels banner.”

The Cavendish London

The Cavendish London, located on Jermyn Street, also has a new hotel manager. Neil Braude has moved up from revenue manager to take on the role and will work with managing director Ciaran Fahy to ensure the hotel retains its four star position.

Fahy said: “Since joining The Cavendish London in May 2008, Neil has become a valuable part of the team. He’s demonstrated exceptional commercial ability combined with first class leadership and communication skills. Such is his commitment and enthusiasm to providing the best service possible for our guests, that I am very proud to be able to appoint him as hotel manager.”

Katarzyna Ciblik, who first joined the team as a placement student in 2007, will replace Braude as revenue manager.
