Toptable reveals the UK’s most popular French restaurants

The restaurant reservations website has listed its 50 most popular French restaurants based on the ratings of diners who had booked and dined through Toptable in the last 12 months.

Both Restaurant Martin Wishart and Michel Roux Jr’s Le Gavroche scored nine out of ten, with one reviewer describing Wishart as having ‘Great consistency’ and delivering ‘a truly enjoyable meal each time I visit’.

The River Restaurant at The Savoy, Petrus by Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester all shared second place with a diner rating of 8.7.

Sharing the third spot were Seven Park Place by William Drabble at St. James’s Hotel in London, The French Table in Surbiton, The Greenhouse in Mayfair and Sketch in Mayfair with a score of 8.6..

Lucy Taylor, head of restaurant relations at Toptable said: “French is many Toptable diners’ favourite cuisine. It is a cuisine that most diners are familiar and comfortable with whether it be Michelin starred haute cuisine or relaxed brasserie food and this is reflected in the breadth and range of French restaurants in our diners’ top 50.”
