Nitenite, the windowless hotel concept which launched in Birmingham in 2006 is looking for a new owner for its city-centre hotel following its holding company's move into administration.

The 104-bedroom hotel is now in the hands of administrators at Zolfo Cooper who are hoping to sell it as a going concern. All 10 members of staff have remained in their jobs.

One of the UK’s first examples of a pod or capsule hotel, Nitenite’s letting bedrooms were designed and furnished to capture the ambience and style of luxury yacht cabins. The business had been trading successfully, but was forced into administration after suffering difficulties with cashflow.

Ryan Grant, partner at Zolfo Cooper, said: “This is clearly an attractive hotel, ideally located for both business and tourism and with an innovative forward-looking design.

"We are commencing a sale process with immediate effect and would welcome enquiries from interested parties. In the meantime, the business continues to trade as normal. We would like to thank staff for their continued professionalism during this period and will make further updates available in due course.”

Jonathan Wren of Colliers International, instructed to sell the hotel on behalf of administrators added: "The Nitenite Hotel is one of central Birmingham’s most distinctive and popular hotels and, although now in administration, continues to trade successfully and with commendably healthy levels of profit.

"Having, as it does, unused space within the building to add additional bedrooms, and the opportunity for the brand to be rolled out to other cities and locations, the sale of Nitenite really is a unique opportunity for potential buyers”.

The agent is inviting offers for the long leasehold property, which was 125 years from 2006.
