Ollie Dabbous, former head chef at Texture in London, is planning to open his first restaurant in central London this autumn.

The chef, who began his career at the two Michelin-starred restaurant Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and currently works at the Cuckoo Club near Piccadilly Circus, has taken a lease on the site of Cyberia, the UK’s first internet café, which opened in Whitfield Street in 1994.

It is understood that the new high-end restaurant and bar will be called Dabbous and will feature modern European cuisine.

The new venture will open in November, with the chef due on site this week to start work on the fit out and conversion.

Dabbous, one of the chefs Restaurant magazine and BigHospitality tipped to be a star of the future in 2009, has also worked at The Fat Duck, Hibiscus, Noma and Mugaritz.

Property adviser Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of the landlord.
