Cheshire entrepreneur Mark Harrison has opened the first ‘bubbly and Bentley’ bar on the site of the former taproom bar at the Royal George Hotel in Knutsford.

The Lounge, which will offer three tiers of membership, one of which enables members to be driven home in a Bentley, will be the 30-year-old’s first venture.

Although The Lounge will be open to all, Harrison is hoping to build up the business by recruiting members through its three-tiered membership scheme.

“Although we will be operating an open-door policy, we are keen to establish The Lounge as one of the region’s smartest and most upmarket bars with special incentives for members,” said Harrison.

Open from midday to midnight Tuesday and Wednesday and to 2am Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 1am on Sunday, the bar will serve Champagne, cocktails, soft drinks and tea and coffee. A taster Mediterranean style menu will be available until 7.30pm every day.

Members will get different incentives depending on the level of membership they buy.

At £60 per year, Silver membership gives free and discounted entry to special events, invites to members only events, entry in a prize draw and special rates for hiring the venue for private functions while members opting for the gold level (£240) will get the same as silver along with complimentary Champagne and a house platter at selected times.

For £1,350 per year, platinum members get it all, plus the option of being chauffeur-driven home in a Bentley.

Harrison will manage the bar with the help of Sharon Rusk, former food and beverage co-ordinator at the Chester Grosvenor hotel.
