The luxury B&B in Edenbridge beat hundreds of entrants after proving its website, launched 18 months ago, had dramatically increased the number of bookings it received, particularly from guests in Europe and America.
Owner Lynn Matthias said: "It is a reward for all the hard work we’ve put in to making our website look as beautiful as our property. We now get a lot of traffic and bookings from Google searches and we have been almost fully booked this summer”.
Google's competition was launched to inspire small businesses to make the most of their websites and reap the business rewards of having an online presence. It gave awards across seven industry sectors.
Google UK managing director Matt Brittin said: “Starborough Manor is a great example to other businesses in the industry. It demonstrates how listing your business through online directories helps to grow your customer base, both within the UK and abroad.
