Winners of Chambord Rendezvous 2011 revealed

The winners of the second annual Chambord Rendezvous competition were announced at an awards ceremony last week at One Mayfair, London.

The awards, presented by comedian Russell Kane and DJ Edith Bowman, marked the culmination of a search to find talented bartenders and chefs from across the UK who entered their best cocktail and culinary creations.

“I was delighted with not only the staggering volume of almost 300 cocktail recipes entered but also the incredibly high standard of each and every one of them,” said Charlotte Ashburner, Chambord senior brand manager.

“Likewise, the culinary entries were of an equally-high quality making all categories a joy to judge. The real difficulty for our judges was selecting just one winner per category but it was a process everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed and we are all very happy with the results.”

The judging panel included Simon Difford, Andy Pearson, Michael Butt and Alex Turner from the Bacardi Brown Forman Training Team. The winners will enjoy a luxury trip to Paris and the Loire Valley, to see where the iconic black raspberry liqueur is carefully crafted.

“Celebrating their creations at the Chambord Rendezvous was the perfect way for us to say thank you to them for their efforts and the entire drinks industry for their continued support of the brand,” added Ashburner. “We’re already putting the wheels in motion for Chambord Rendezvous 2012, which will be even more spectacular... watch this space!”

The winners of this year’s Chambord Rendezvous competition were revealed as:


Aperitif - Auld Alliance - Created by Daniel Bovey, Sahara Bar

After Dinner Drink – Purple Rain - Created by Stefano Cossio, 45 Park Lane

Chambord Rendezvous Signature Serve - Le Roi Soleil - Created by Nicolas Stoffel, Hotel du Vin Bristol


Appetiser - Seductive Chambord - Created by Martin Matysik, Thatched Cottage

Main Course - Pan roasted fillet of venison with Chambord glazed pears and pancetta wrapped dauphinoise - Created by Carina Sage, IET Savoy Place

Dessert - Chambord and Raspberry Parfait with Chambord Granita - Created by Alastair James, Party Ingredients
