Property agents Christie & Co, who are selling the 70-bedroom hotel, announced yesterday that they are seeking first bids by 12pm and are expecting 'considerable interest'.
Hotel Verta, which opened in September 2010, was placed into administration on 26 July. It was one of four properties that remained under Davis' control after Von Essen Hotels Ltd. went into administration in April.
David Creamore, director of London Hotels for Christie & Co, said: “The sale of this luxurious, 70-room hotel has attracted considerable interest from both the UK and overseas — unsurprisingly, as it represents a superb and rare re-branding opportunity for existing operators or for potential investors to gain a foothold in London’s hotel marketplace.”
Offers are invited for the long leasehold interest of the hotel - 145 years of the 150 year long lease still remain.
Von Essen hotels
Currently, 19 of the 28 Von Essen hotels are under offer with a decision on ownership due to be made imminently.
Christie & Co told BigHospitality last month that a 'number of experienced operators and wealthy investors have submitted offers for the sites on a sub-group or individual basis'.
