Two Scottish Highlands hotels under the Glenorchy Lodge Hotels portfolio have been put up for sale on the instruction of administrators.

The two hotels – Tyndrum Lodge in Tyndrum and Taynuilt Hotel in Argyll and Bute – were run for over 20 years by Glenrchy Lodge and are available together or individually.

Brian Sheldon of Christie + Co, who is co-ordinating the sale of the two hotels, said: “The hotels have undergone major refurbishment during the time they were run by Glenorchy Hotels. They have developed much repeat business and attract all-year-round trade, thanks to their excellent trading positions.”

Tourist hotspots

Tyndrum Lodge is a 22-bedroom lodge-style hotel in a roadside setting on the A82 tourist route. The hotel’s Paddy’s Bar & Grill is a common stop-off for walkers. The freehold to Tyndrum Lodge is being offered at a guide price of £650,000.

Taynuilt Hotel (pictured) is a 16th Century coaching inn with 12 en-suite bedrooms and two bars and restaurants. It is situated on the A85 – a busy tourist route in Scotland. The freehold to Taynuilt Hotel is being offered at a guide price of £450,000.

“The two hotels continue to trade throughout this process,” added Sheldon. “We anticipate a good level of interest in either, or both, from prospective purchasers.”

Glenorchy Lodge Hotels is owned and managed by the Whyte family, with over 20 years experience. The two hotels are being sold under the instruction of administrators RSM Tenon. The only other hotel in their portfolio, Glenorchy Lodge Hotel, will continue to run as normal.
