Choice Hotels is set to open Comfort Hotel Luton next month, after re-branding and completely refurbishing the former Royal Hotel Luton.

The hotel, located in the centre of the town, is now owned and operated by Zaheed Nizar, director for Landlet Hotel Group, under a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels Europe. The number of en-suite bedrooms in the hotel has doubled to 44.

Duncan Berry, Chief executive of Choice Hotels Europe (UK), said: "We are delighted to see the Comfort Hotel Luton join our global network of more than 6,100 hotels. Furthermore, we believe that the Comfort brand will attract more guests to the hotel and help drive local economic growth for Luton."

Comfort Hotel Luton also offers free wireless and internet access throughout. It has 14 complimentary parking spaces for guests and the hotel bar is open to both guests and non-residents.

Choice Hotels Europe franchises nearly 500 hotels across Europe, including the Comfort Inn Vauxhall in London.
