Opening in early December, the 3,500 sq.ft site on St Martin’s Lane will provide 60 covers spread over two floors and will be open seven days a week.
“We are very much looking forward to establishing The Angel & Crown as a genuine gastropub,” said Tom Martin. “A gastropub that offers good food and good ale in a traditional pub setting.”
The site – an 18th Century public house located in the heart of theatreland – is undergoing a sympathetic refurbishment throughout. The ground floor will operate as a traditional pub, while the first floor will provide an informal pub dining room.
Seasonal British produce
Reservations at the Angel & Crown will be taken for lunch, dinner and post-theatre. The gastropub will serve an all-day menu of seasonal British produce from select artisan producers, regional farmers and Billingsgate fish market.
The group’s signature modern pub dishes will feature alongside bar food. The drinks selection will reflect the history of the pub and include cask ales, a range of winter warmers and hot ciders, wines and premium spirits.
