Mark Hix plans to add another two restaurants to his portfolio next year
Mark Hix is back on the expansion trail with a number of new restaurants soon to be added to his burgeoning portfolio.

The chef says he is opening a new restaurant and bar at The Thompson Hotel in Belgravia, which is due to launch early next year, although finer details of the project are still under wraps.

Hix’s plans for a restaurant in the Tramshed building in London’s Shoreditch have also been revived, with the chef hoping to have his restaurant opened on the site by mid next year.

The Tramshed deal had fallen flat over problems with securing a licence after 11pm, forcing Hix to pull out of the move in July after having already spend £100,000 on designers and legal fees, but Restaurant understands that these issues are soon to be overcome, giving him the green light to continue.

Mark Hix currently owns four restaurants in London - HIX, Hix Oyster & Chop House, HIX at the Albemarle and HIX at Selfridge's. He also has Hix Oyster & Fish House in Dorset and Mark's Bar in London.
