New York-style bar & restaurant opens in Clapham Common

The 1,000sq.ft site caters for 70 inside with an additional 40 covers available outside. Co-owners Mark Angell and Ben Burston aim to provide well-sourced, sustainable food at reasonable prices.
Head chef Stephen Gadd previously worked at Hibiscus and Pied a Terre. The menu features contemporary simple dishes including Cornish Coley with Cauliflower Purée & roasted onion, Grilled Ox Tongue with sauce Ravigote and Rare Onglet on Roasted Beetroots.
The bar offers a selection of beers and ale, a small selection of wine and classic cocktails. The Rookery’s interior features exposed brickwork and cables with suspended light bulbs and ceramic tiles, whilst seating is made up of mismatching wooden furniture.
