Fred Sirieix, general manager at Galvin at Windows restaurant, and Simon Vincent, Hilton Worldwide’s president for Europe, are stepping in to the boxing ring to take on a former champion to fight for a work apprenticeship scheme and charity.

Sirieix and Vincent will be taking on former undefeated British and European welterweight champion Clinton Mckenzie on 13 December in aid of Galvin’s Chance - an ‘into work’ programme initiated by Galvin at Windows, which targets disadvantaged and at-risk young people aged 18-24 not in education or employment.

“We are both training hard in preparation for the big fight and are hugely grateful for your support,” said Sirieix. “The fight will consist of ten rounds with the two of us alternating in and out of the ring in a tag team approach. The winner will be decided either by points scored or a knockout.

“We are putting our bodies on the line for a very good cause. Every penny raised from the event will be channelled by Hilton in the Community Foundation to Galvin's Chance to give these vulnerable young Londoners a second chance in life.

“Clinton Mckenzie has been a key supporter of Galvin's Chance and together we hope to raise some much needed funds towards the 2012 initiative. On the 13th however there can only be one winner and it will be team Sugar Fred (the Stinger) and Simon the Marvellous!

Earlier this year, BigHospitality reported that Sirieix has designed a new board game to help restaurateurs and hoteliers train their staff to deliver the very best service.
