The new six-storey Travelodge hotel in Southport has been put up for sale ahead of its opening.

The Ribble Building, a Grade II listed former bus station, is strategically located in the centre of the Merseyside town, boasting 101 bedrooms and a restaurant when complete.

Jay Singh of CBRE Hotels, which has been appointed to sell the hotel, said: “Travelodge are one of the few operators in the hotel space who offer leasehold investments backed by a sound financial covenant, because of this, investment subject to Travelodge leases are greatly sought after and quickly snapped up”.

Travelodge have signed a 25-year-lease on the building, offering investors a long leasehold. The Travelodge brand is growing rapidly having doubled its estate over the past six years.

As Above

Posted by Jim,

Agree with the others, but also to add this building is also not 'Strategically located in the centre of the Merseyside town', it is on the South edge of the town.

However, if they do develop this building then that is great news, it's been an eyesore falling to pieces for a very long time.

Posted by Les Jackson,

Southport is not on the outskirts of Liverpool. It is a good 20-25 miles away and has no association with Liverpool or its town hall.
