JD Wetherspoon has been awarded for having the best toilets across the hospitality industry at the Loo of the Year Awards 2011.

Wetherspoon won all four national toilet awards in the pubs and wine bars category across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as being named the UK Trophy Winner in the Corporate Provider category.

Wetherspoon’s head of property and acquisitions Jon Randall said: “We are thrilled to have won so many titles in the Loo of the Year Awards 2011. Our staff maintain their pub toilets to the highest standards at all times and this is reflected in the judges’ inspections."

The independent judges assessed hundreds of toilets in the UK hospitality industry including hotels, restaurants and pubs. The loos were judged on a range of criteria including cleanliness, décor and maintenance, hygiene, accessibility and overall management.

Last year, Wetherspoon was named Overall UK Loo of the Year Award Winner and in 2008 the pubco took home four awards.
