Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts has raised £60,550 over the past two months for testicular health and local charities which help the homeless under the Sleepsmart/Streetsmart initiative.

Park Plaza County Hall has been involved with Sleepsmart/Streetsmart for the last three years and this year the other five London Park Plaza hotels, in addition to the properties in Nottingham and Leeds, joined in with the fund-raising efforts.

“We continue to be elated by the willingness of guests to help out with worthy causes,” said Gref Hegarty, regional general manager for Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts. “With donations ranging from £1 to £2,000 – everything is gratefully received.

“Whether it’s a local homeless individual who needs a boost to get back into employment or funding for research to treat testicular cancer, the £60,550 we’ve raised will make a difference to so many.”

During November, Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts joined in Movember by encouraging staff to sprout moustaches to join in with the global efforts of the charity.

The charity scheme helps the homeless back into accommodation and work through £1 donations on guests’ room or restaurant bills which is well-received by guests, particularly in the months of November and December when outside living conditions are extremely tough.
