Restaurateur Julie Walters has re-opened steakhouse restaurant Sizzlers in Glasgow as the Chophouse Brasserie following a six figure sum investment

Walters, who has run a restaurant on the site in Merchant City with husband Raymond for the past 13 years, unveiled the new concept when she re-opened the restaurant earlier this month.

Taking inspiration from 1930s New York, the new style 130-cover venue will serve Angus beef for grills and steaks, alongside Scottish meat and fresh seafood as well as brasserie style dishes such as beef bourguignon; chicken Balmoral and beef olives prepared by head chef Andrew Butler.

“Having identified a need in Glasgow for a classic steakhouse and brasserie combining the atmosphere of 1920’s and 1930’s New York combined with the contemporary tastes of today, The Chophouse Brasserie opens in Merchant Square with the aim of providing quality food at an affordable price in a warm and welcoming atmosphere," said Walters.
