Grady Atkins, head chef, Laguna Kitchen & Bar
Laguna Kitchen & Bar has appointed Grady Atkins as new head chef.
Atkins arrives from St Fagans, bringing almost 25 years of experience to the role. He has established a global track record, having worked in hotels and restaurants in Paris, California and Hong Kong.
The 41-year-old will be heading up a team of 12 at the restaurant, which is located within the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff’s city centre. As well as executive chef responsibilities, Atkins will manage the front and back of house and take the lead in cultivating relationships with local suppliers, introducing new ingredients and produce to the menu.
Atkins said: “Laguna Kitchen & Bar has an excellent reputation for serving high-quality, gourmet food which is good value and accessible to diners. I will aim to build upon this and introduce more seasonal influences to the menu. I’m very much looking forward to getting bedded-in and making a significant contribution to the restaurant’s success."
