The Wellington, located in north Bristol, now has eight boutique-style, king-size bedrooms - some of which the operator says can be transformed into twin rooms.
Robin Couling, retail director of Bath Ales, said the company decided there was a good opportunity to develop the hotel side of the business. "Certainly the location lends itself perfectly to extending our offer – with two of the city’s most popular sporting venues within walking distance and the centre of Bristol just a short taxi ride away. Visitors to the city, whether it’s for business or leisure, who are looking for great food, a place to stay and a good pint will be made very welcome here."
Bath Ales, founded in 1995, is investing in its brewing business to double production and move the brewery to a new site. With the opening last month of the first pub outside the south west, in Oxford, the business now operates nine venues and has this month announced it will be opening the second Graze Bar, Brasserie & Chophouse concept - this time in Cirencester.
