Independent, luxury and boutique hoteliers will be able to attend the first UK trade event dedicated to the top-end hotel market next month with the launch of the Independent Hotel Show.

Taking place on 16 and 17 October at London’s Olympia, the Independent Hotel Show will present over 150 hotel suppliers and brands along with a free-to-attend programme of business sessions and various networking opportunities.

“This sector of the hospitality industry has expanded and acquired huge importance within the past five years,” said Tim Etchells, managing director of SME London, the events company behind the Show.

“Until now, no trade show had existed dedicated to this quality end of the hospitality market. We launched The Independent Hotel Show to bring the owners, operators and key decision-makers together with the industry’s top suppliers, service providers and designers.”

The Show will also host a series of informative presentations, panel discussions, Q&A’s and head-to-head interviews delivered by the independent hotel industry’s successful hotel operators, experts and commentators.

The business breakout sessions include: -

  • How to beat the 'down times' and build guest loyalty
  • TripAdvisor: Friend or foe?
  • Front of House, front of mind: The importance of first impressions
  • Staying in trend: Keeping up with what customers are looking for
  • Harness the power of social media

Speakers include The Sunday Telegraph’s ‘hotel guru’ Fiona Duncan, Pride of Britain Hotels’ chief executive Peter Hancock, territory manager of business listings for TripAdvisor Alistair Macgregor and Ynshir Hall Hotel’s owner Joan Reen.

Other features of the Show are the Destination Spa for ideas to help create a tailor-made spa in your hotel; and the Breakfast, Bedroom & Bar, which will present some of the most unique food and drink products and accessories for your breakfast service, mini-bar or hotel bar.

Registration and entrance to the Independent Hotel Show is free to all owners, operators and key decision-makers in the hospitality industry.
