Ashley Wright, head chef, Q Restaurant at The Old Quay House
The Old Quay House, a boutique hotel on the harbour front in Fowey, south Cornwall, has announced the appointment of Ashley Wright as head chef of the popular Q Restaurant.
30-year old Wright joins The Old Quay House from 22 Mill Street in Chagford, Devon, where he and his wife Karla have worked together since early 2011 and have been instrumental in building a reputation for excellence and innovative gastronomic experiences. During his time at 22 Mill Street Ashley appeared on ITV’s ‘Britain’s Best Dish’.
He gained experience in a number of kitchens in Devon and the West Country, from a busy city bistro to a country house hotel and now, along with his young family and their dog, has swapped the Devon countryside for a taste of life by the sea in Fowey.
