Leading chef and restaurateur Rick Stein has revealed he is looking to build more accommodation partnerships and manage new hotels and rooms businesses.

Stein, who already operates the St Petroc's Hotel and a number of guest houses and rooms near his Padstow restaurant, said he was looking to move into operating more hotels and guest houses for other owners who would gain use of his businesses booking channels.

"I do travel an awful lot and I love hotels and hotel rooms. We are now looking at running other people's hotels because we don't have much capital."

Stein spoke to BigHospitality about his current and future hotelier aspirations at the Independent Hotel Show in London after announcing earlier this month he would run Trevone Farm - a collection of four holiday homes on the north Cornish coast featuring interiors by ex-wife Jill Stein.

"We have just opened four newly-built holiday houses which we are running but if it works we are definitely looking for partners. Guests get our booking facilities and receive access and advanced booking for the restaurants - that is really interesting us. We took the idea from larger hotels, most operate as management companies," he added.
