Richoux Group has acquired the former police station on the High Street in Chislehurst, Kent, and confirmed to BigHospitality it will open the property as a restaurant under the Villagio Ristorante concept at the beginning of December.

The company, which also operates the Richoux, Dean's Diner and Zippers brands, is understood to have taken out a 20-year lease on the venue.

At the end of August, Richoux Group announced it had recorded a £390k profit in the 28 weeks to 8 July and revealed it had plans to purchase two new restaurants this year - one under the Villagio brand and one for the Dean's Diner concept.

Speaking to BigHospitality, the group managing director Edward Standring confirmed Chislehurst would open before Christmas and said the company would make announcements on its plans for next year in due course.

Standring also gave an update on a possible acquisition for the 60s American themed restaurant Dean's Diner confirming contracts had not yet been exchanged but a new property was in the pipeline.
