Chef Africa: Ashley Palmer-Watts's Kenyan photo gallery
Ashley was investigating the work of Farm Africa in the Kisumu area of the country - exploring fish farms and the supporting Aqua Shops that have been established to help communities farm tilapia to eat and sell, allowing them to move towards becoming self-sufficient.
The project, which both the charity and Ashley say deserves the support of the UK restaurant industry, helps groups of people like Joyce Kadenge's family. Ashley visited a number of communities, fish ponds and Aqua Shops before becoming Joyce's guest, helping her with all her chores and cooking before allowing her to put her feet up as he cooked a tilapia feast for the community.
BigHospitality was there every step of the way recording Ashley's thoughts for a diary and a special video report coming soon - until then see the chef as you have never seen him before in this exclusive photo gallery which documents Ashley's journey through Kenya from viewing and harvesting fish ponds to working and cooking for Joyce.
