Robin Gill, head chef, Almeida
Almeida restaurant, located just off Upper Street in Islington, has appointed Robin Gill as head chef.
Having worked at a variety of establishments including the two-Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and a brief stint at the World's Best Restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, Gill brings with him a wealth of experience.
He will gradually introduce his own style to the Almeida menu with a full re-launch in January 2013. Focusing on clean, incisive flavours, substituting butters and creams with oils and spices, Gill will create a menu featuring lighter dishes using the best of foraged fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Working alongside him is new general manager Claire Follea who was previously at Gaucho in Sloane Square and at Cote.
