Italian restaurant chain Zizzi is launching what will be its largest restaurant in the UK next week and the first to house a new standalone bar; in Glasgow’s Royal Exchange Square shopping centre.

Opening on Monday (11 Feb), Zizzi Royal Exchange Square has space for 250 diners including outside seating and a large bar. It is the first in a series of new openings for the Gondola-owned group which has another seven restaurants planned for this year.

Erica Sawer, operations manager for Zizzi Scotland, said: “As Glasgow is such a vibrant city, we wanted to offer something different so we’re opening our biggest ever restaurant in the UK that features a fully-licensed separate bar.

“With the addition of the bar menu, we want to give visitors the choice to enjoy a meal or simply meet friends for drinks within the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Exchange building.”

The new bar area at the Royal Exchange Square site will serve Italian light bites. The venue is the third Zizzi in Glasgow, employing over 130 staff between them.
