Cropwell Bishop, the Nottinghamshire-based family cheesemakers, has launched Beauvale – a soft, creamy and mellow blue cheese available to all foodservice businesses throughout the UK.

Product details:

Beauvale is a hand-made cheese which is slightly milder that Stilton and uses traditional rennet and hand-ladling to ensure a soft curd and texture.

Cropwell Bishop’s artisan cheese makers hand-ladle Beauvale into moulds before leaving it to mature for seven weeks, during which time it is turned by hand and develops its thin edible crust.

The cheese is an ideal accompaniment to pasta and baked potato or as a tasty addition to a cheeseboard. It is also suitable for vegetarians.

Beauvale is like a gorgonzola so suits a red wine - grape varieties such as merlot are perfect or a smooth, rich port. A Brakspear Triple complements Beauvale - the molasses and rum flavours of the beer provide an effective contrast with the blue cheese.
